Shiloshi Guest Houses
Maharashtra, India
Ongoing

Set amidst 350 acres of contoured terrain between Pune and the western coast of Maharashtra, this residential and commercial development is envisioned as a retreat to nature, a respite from urban experience, and a place to enjoy healthy delicious food and deep luxurious slumber. South-facing slopes open to sweeping views, while a seasonal stream at the base of the land comes alive during the monsoon, making present the site’s rich ecology and atmosphere.
At its heart, a communal building and clubhouse form the social core, surrounded by working farmlands that supply a farm-to-table restaurant. Here, seasonal harvests shape the menu, creating a direct connection between the land, its produce, and the community it nourishes.
Ten stone-clad guest houses are nestled into the hillside, their interiors cool and quiet, evoking the calm sanctuary of a cave. With soft lighting, thick walls, and deep verandas framing distant valley views, they are spaces devoted to rest restorative sleep.
The remaining land is divided into smaller parcels, offering future residents the chance to create homes within this verdant setting. Meandering pathways link plots, farmlands, and communal spaces, while terraces, shaded decks, and gardens draw life outward, fostering a daily rhythm in tune with the changing light, seasons, and abundance of space.
